CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES 2025

Wrap UP: 3/24/2025 - all teams returned home safely.
In late January, NMBDR sent Chaplains, a Logistics Chief and a Feeding Teams to Los Angeles CA, and in Feburary and March provided two more Feeding Teams, an Operations Chief and 4 Personal Property Removal Teams.  There were 13 gospel presentations resulting in 6 professions of faith, there were 543 Chaplaincy contacts at the Incident Command post and the various Disaster Operation Centers set up around Los Angeles.  Our Chaplains, Cleanup and Feeding teams also had 148 Ministry contacts, distributed 59 bibles and 23 tracks.

A total of 343 NMBDR volunteer days and 3619 volunteer work hours were recorded for the Califorina response.  Our Cleanup teams worked on 33 homesites to find personal property that survived the fires. Our feeding teams helped with the Mass Feeding Operation to prepare meals and distribute to the various shelters that were set up around the city as well as preparing meals for the volunteers from across the country who were on site.

 2/22 - 3/24
Once California received permission to do Personal Property Recovery (PPR), NMBDR sent a team of 12 to Pasadena, they returned home safely on 3/1.  Another PPR team of 5 followed on 3/1 to Santa Monica to do PPR from the Palisades Fire.  A third PPR team with 9 volunteers joined them on 3/9 and returned home on 3/24. An Incident Management Operations volunteer served for two weeks with this last group.
CA has sufficient volunteers to finish the work orders, so NMBDR will not send anymore volunteers.
